Part 22: Bible Study, Silence: A critical reflection on Genesis 12, 10 - 20

Rev. Karla Steilmann of the Evangelical Church of the River Plate (IERP) reflects on the story of Abraham and Sarai, which she considers to be "nothing unusual", being "simply the story of a husband and wife seeking to survive in difficult times".

However, it invites us to take another look and ask ourselves "What do I see now in the text? Who does it remind me of? Do I also know someone who suffers some kind of violence from their partner or someone around them? How many people do we know who, like Pharaoh, decide to hand the victim over to her aggressor instead of helping her, of coming to her aid? Have I ever had to keep quiet in a situation of violence out of fear or not knowing what to do? How can I help in a situation like this?
