LWF President Welcomes Council 2014 to Indonesia

LWF President Bishop Dr Munib Younan welcomes LWF Council members to Indonesia for the governing body’s 2014 meeting.

In the video, Younan reminds the Council members of the communion’s unity in a common Christ and a common baptism that gives the strength to be like “trees planted by streams of water,” the Council 2014 theme.

He notes that the meeting’s setting on the islands of Indonesia underlines the need for the church to address urgent global challenges of today such climate change, injustice and religious extremism.
