Sharing Hope: Empowering Churches, Impacting the World

The LWF strategy for the period 2025-2031 is anchored in hope. It lays out four strategic priorities that will guide the Lutheran communion’s work of sharing hope to empowering churches and impact the world over the next seven years.

The strategy articulates the organization’s mission, vision and values and helps explain how it will implement decisions from the Thirteenth Assembly, held in Kraków, Poland in September 2023.

It was developed through an extensive process involving LWF’s stakeholders — member churches and partner organizations. This engagement highlighted the increasingly polarized world in which churches witness the gospel, and the need for the LWF communion to foster deeper connections, mutual respect and understanding of the members’ experiences.

A core focus of the strategy is upholding human dignity and justice, while encouraging g member churches to contribute their vibrant witness to achieving LWF's goals.
