Our General Secretary, Rev. Dr Anne Burghardt, is the first woman and first person from Central Eastern Europe to hold this office. She was elected by the LWF Council at its 2021 meeting and assumed office on 1 November 2021.
The Council has the responsibility to ensure that LWF is satisfactorily organized and run according to its defined purpose and in accordance with resolutions made by the Assembly.
It also appoints from its membership committees and sub-committees to direct specific areas of work.
Bishop Henrik Stubkjær is the President of the LWF. He was elected at the Thirteenth Assembly in September 2023, in Kraków, Poland. He is the fourteenth person to serve in the position of president.
