“Violence must end, civilians must be protected”

(LWI) - The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) has sent condolences to DanChurchAid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) after five children in the family of a DCA/NCA staff member in the Palestine Country Programme were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza yesterday.

LWF general secretary Rev. Dr Martin Junge wrote, “Like the rest of the world, we are truly shocked and saddened by this. It is yet another devastating loss in the endless cycle of violence which affects innocent civilians.”

“The violence must end, international law must be upheld, and civilians protected. We stand with you in calling for peace, respect for international law, and for the protection of civilians.”

LWF, DCA, and NCA are long-standing partners, collaborating in humanitarian assistance and development work.
