Launch of a publication

Since 2015 five Faith-Based Organizations, the Lutheran World Federation, the World Council of Churches, the Church of SwedenFinn Church Aid, and Mission 21, have joined efforts to strengthen the capacity of their partners worldwide in achieving gender justice through effective advocacy for women's human rights. Over 130 women and men working for Faith-Based Organizations in around 48 countries have been trained on local to global advocacy using United Nations mechanisms such as the CEDAW Convention, the UPR mechanism and the Special Procedures of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Several topics of this training have been gathered in the publication "Affirming Women's Human Rights: Resources for Faith-Based Organizations"

LWF invites to the launch of this publication and to take part at an informal round table around a strategic way forward in the current context of setback for women’s rights. This will be an opportunity for an exchange of thoughts, experiences and questions regarding key dimensions of sexual and gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, the relationship between faith and gender justice and best practices regarding advocacy and capacity building that could be shared.

There will be a reception following the round table discussion.
