Plenary session of the Lutheran-Orthodox Joint Commission

The plenary session is expected to finalize the study process on ordained ministry/priesthood, a topic which both dialogue partners have been discussing since 2012.
The commission will also participate in the consecration of the newly elected Lutheran Bishop of Helsinki, Rev. Dr Teemu Laajasalo. In the framework of this dialogue commission meeting, a Lutheran-Orthodox Seminar on the occasion of marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, “Legacy of the Reformation – Lutheran and Orthodox approaches”, will take place on 13 November.
Besides LWF General Secretary Rev. Dr Martin Junge and several representatives of local Lutheran and Orthodox churches, Fr Heikki Huttunen, the General Secretary of the Conference of European Churches, will give a presentation.
