Affirming support for church and community needs

The LWF supports its member churches to provide hands-on solutions to pressing needs through a diverse range of projects including livelihood initiatives, women’s and youth empowerment and theological training. The Committee for Member Church Projects meets annually to receive reports on activities implemented during the previous year and approve new long-term projects.  In 2021, a limited number of projects will be recommended since most of the current 61 continue into the next years. As this is the first year of the new Policy on Member Church Projects, which added short-term activities to the project portfolio and set a maximum duration of six years per project, an update on this approach will also be provided.

The committee comprises LWF Council representatives, with members representing each of the seven LWF regions and related funding agencies.
