LWF Delegation Mobilizes at COP20 Lima
1 - 12 December, Lima, Peru will be the scene of a concerted global effort to mobilize action on climate change.
Lutheran leaders - a delegation of young people from all over the world - will be at the forefront to advocate for climate justice on behalf of the entire LWF communion.
Anchoring event is COP20 hosted by the Government of Peru on 9 December.
The LWF delegation of seven young people from around the world will also take part in the monthly “Fast for the Climate” campaign on 1 December, the opening day of the conference, and a candlelit vigil outside Pentagonito on 30 November aimed at bringing the Fast for the Climate message to the streets of Lima. The delegates come from France, Norway, Sweden, the USA, Papua New Guinea, India and Canada.

- Fast for the Climate Photo Opportunity inside COP20 - For one hour on 1 December, members of the LWF Delegation, other fasters and negotiators will meet at the COP20 main canteen and sit in front of empty plates to draw awareness to the need for climate action.
- Fast for the Climate Press Conference - Assembled with fasters from faith, youth and NGOs, the LWF Delegation will launch a 365-day fasting chain from Lima to Paris.
- Fast for the Climate – The LWF encourages everyone worldwide to fast for one day on 1 December in solidarity with climate justice.
- Global Climate Change March - The LWF Delegation leads a march through the streets of Lima to emphasize the impact climate change has on society's most vulnerable inhabitants.
