Bishop Henrik Stubkjær

Bishop Henrik Stubkjær is the President of the LWF. He was elected at the Thirteenth Assembly in September 2023, in Kraków, Poland. He is the fourteenth person to serve in the position of president.

The President is the presiding officer of the Assembly, the Council and the Executive Committee. He or she oversees LWF’s life and work in consultation with the General Secretary. The Assembly elects the President to serve until the next Assembly.

President Stubkjær is an ordained pastor from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark where he serves as Bishop of the Viborg Diocese.

Stubkjær and his wife Karen Neergaard Stubkjær, a parish pastor, have four adult children.
