Climate advocacy guide

Climate advocacy guide
Towards more ambitious national climate policies
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) has a long-standing commitment to climate justice, standing in solidarity with vulnerable communities affected by climate change, including refugees, people with disabilities, those living in poverty, women, children, and indigenous peoples.
LWF advocates for climate action rooted in justice, equity, and human dignity, emphasizing the need for policies that prioritize resilience, adaptation, and the protection of human rights.
The LWF Climate Advocacy Guide supports civil society, particularly faith-based organizations and churches, in engaging in effective climate advocacy at the local level. It provides practical tools to understand and assess key Paris Agreement instruments—Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), and Long-Term Strategies (LTSs)—and to identify areas for improvement.
By promoting locally grounded action, the guide empowers organizations to influence national climate policies and work towards a more just and sustainable future. It is a call to move from critique to concrete action—locally, nationally, and globally.
