LWF advocacy for the protection of human rights
At the 59th Session of the Human Rights Council, the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) will engage in advocacy focused on human rights situations in countries and regions where it is active through its member churches and LWF World Service country programs.
The primary aim is to amplify the voices of the communities LWF serves—bringing local realities to the global stage.
During this session, LWF will provide input on the human rights situations in Iraq and Venezuela, as well as on violence against women and girls.
LWF is also co-organizing a side event titled:
"Holding the Line: Advancing Human Rights and Gender Justice in Shrinking Civic Space", in collaboration with civil society partners and the governments of Sweden and Brazil.
