LWF at UN Commission on the Status of Women
Strengthening access to justice for women and girls
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) will participate in the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which will be focused on the theme of strengthening access to justice for all women and girls.
Through both in person and online participation, LWF will showcase the work of its member churches and country programs standing alongside women as they advocate for an end to gender discrimination and for full access to fair and inclusive legal representation.
LWF delegates will share grass-roots experiences of working for gender justice and women’s empowerment in different countries and contexts around the globe. The CSW provides faith-based organizations and other civil society groups, with an opportunity to influence the UN agenda through oral and written statements, to engage with member state delegations and to shape the CSW outcome document.
