LWF joins 2025 global campaign
The Lutheran World Federation joins this year’s 16 Days campaign under the global theme ‘UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls’. By joining the global campaign, LWF stands in solidarity with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and with partner organizations working toward gender justice.
The campaign runs from the 25 November international day for the elimination of violence against women to the 10 December Human Rights Day. Its goal is to amplify voices, raise awareness, and advocate for systemic change at local, national, and international levels.
During the 16 days, the LWF, its member churches and partners will engage in education, theological reflection and action on ending all forms of sexual and gender-based violence.
2025 Campaign details
Every year we provide a variety of resources that can be customized for use in many different contexts. This year, those resources reflect the UN theme 'UNiTE! End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls', a theme which aligns directly with LWF’s core values of promoting human dignity, justice, and peace.
On 28 November 2019, seven survivors and activists from SEMA (Global Network of Victims and Survivors to End Wartime Sexual Violence) participated in a three-day workshop and a private event organized by The Lutheran World Federation, the Mukwege Foundation and UNIGE Egalité, as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
