The LWF views engagement with the critical issues of social and economic justice and the promotion of human dignity as fundamental elements of a holistic Christian ministry and witness. Through its Office for International Affairs and Human Rights (OIAHR), the LWF seeks to strengthen, support and complement the ministries of its member churches in three major areas:

10 December 2008: 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted by the General Assembly on 10 December 1948. 2008 marked the 60th anniversary of this seminal landmark in the development of modern international human rights law. Find out more about the UDHR.
